Moroccan-Dutch Writer Asis Aynan Tackles Multi-Culturalism
Writer Asis Aynan does not shy away from controversial topics
28-year-old Asis Aynan is one of the few Moroccans raised in the Netherlands who work as writers and journalists. Born in the Dutch town of Haarlem, Aynan makes regular contributions as a columnist and commentator for the social-democratic newspaper “Het Parool” and for the culture magazine “Contrast”. He writes about migration, multiculturalism, dialogue and Islam. He is not afraid of topics that are causing controversy and debate in Dutch society, such as the uneasy relationship with the Muslim community and the disappearance of multiculturalism as a result of revived right-wing attitudes.
